SYSE OPEN HOUSE AND AUDITION NIGHT

To learn more about SYSE with an option to audition in person, join us on Tuesday, August 25th from 5:30-6:30pm for the SYSE Open House and Audition Night. Meet our Director, learn about the ensemble, ask questions, and choose the audition option that works best for you-audition that evening or receive instructions for submitting a video audition later. It's a welcoming, low-pressure way to explore becoming part of the Schaumburg Youth String Ensemble.

VIDEO AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Video auditions are accepted on a rolling basis. We are currently accepting video auditions for Fall 2026.

Prepare and submit scales and a brief unaccompanied solo passage of your choice.

• Scales
  • Play one of the following one-octave major scales: C, G, D, A, F
    
    
• Prepared Excerpts
  • Violin
  • Viola
  • Cello
    
    

PLEASE NOTE:

• All SYO members participate in their school orchestra or band programs where available.
• Orchestra placement is at the discretion of the directors.
